I was very fortunate in coming to Florida to secure an in-house position with the University of Florida Health Science Center. I have been there since 2002 until joining Dell Graham. This was an incredible opportunity for me to interface with all sorts of faculty, and healthcare providers. From the college of medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, health professions and veterinary medicine. It really gave me an opportunity to work with some faculty who are literally the best of the best in what they do and get to know all aspects of healthcare at a huge academic medical center. Learning what their transaction needs are, about their regulatory needs and how I as a healthcare law attorney can best serve those interests and help them with that side. They can actually focus on what they want to do. They didn’t go to school to become a doctor, a nurse, a pharmacist or a dentist to have to worry about the business side of things.
