The third thing that’s important for employers to consider is whether they have other businesses. If there’s common ownership or other relationships present it may be the case that those other businesses need to be included in your count to determine if you have fifty employees. So you may feel like, “Oh, I have twenty employees in this business and thirty in that business and ten in that business,” but you have to add them all together because that’s what the government’s going to do in determining whether or not you need to be offering health coverage to these employees.
